Oude Geuze Vielle Oud Beersel

Loose, bubbly white head. Smells sour, with a bit of pepper and must. Really sharp, sour body that dissapates to a dry, white wine finish.

Liefman's / Ommegang Zuur

Light oak notes with a bitter dark fruit scent. The body is fairly light, like you'd expect from a brown... when the sourness kicks in it's all cherry and raspberry, and lingers forever.

Dogfish Head World Wide Stout

Smells like dates, port, oak and red wine, with a slight hint of alcohol. The body isn't nearly as dense as I expected. Port and soy sauce come through strongly, the alcohol isn't all that present in the flavor. Two sips in, however, it's plainly apparent that I'm drinking jet fuel... it's 18% after all. Fantastically drinkable for such a gaudy ABV.

Lost Abbey Serpent's Double Stout

Backlog: Nose of raisins and roasted malts, body is stout-thick with all malt back. Not a hop in sight until a surprisingly crisp finish.

Sam Smith Yorkshire Stringo

Smells citrusy, yet musty. Superthick mouthfeel, with lemon peel, coriander, oak and a roasty malt flavor. Very minimal hopping, and despite the malt load it finishes really dryly.

Mad River Serious Madness Black

Great roasty nose, and a super smooth mouthfeel. There's a malty finish that sticks around for a long while, but it's woody and fairly pleasant. Not bad.

Lost Abbey Bourbon Barrel Angel's Share

Smells like leather, prunes and chocolate. There's a distinct soy sauce flavor that reminds me a lot of palo santo marron. Same density too. Awesome.

Dochter van de Korenaan Courage Strong Dark

Nose of leather and brown sugar. Body's about the same... a bit of vanilla in the finish.

Southern Tier Hoppe

Crisp nose, not a lot of mouthfeel but a nice mild floral hopppiness. Then the hops kick in. Tons of bittering hops finish it out.
